Students will be having an asynchronous day, Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Students will not be on campus tomorrow due to staff professional development, but will need to log into their Google classroom for their daily assignments. We look forward to seeing students in-person on Thursday.

Hello Trojan Parents,
Due to a water and sewer issue we are going to be sending students home early to ensure the safety and health of our students. Tomorrow will be an asynchronous day and we will resume school on Thursday at the regular time.
Dear Santo Domingo Community,
The statewide requirement to quarantine for school staff and students exposed to COVID-19 has
been lifted. BPS encourages students and staff who test positive for COVID-19 to remain at
home if they are not feeling well as would be the case with other illnesses such as the flu or
common cold. However, such individuals do have the option to come to work if they are able to
do so. BPS recommends mask wearing in such instances. Mitigation strategies will be
considered by the district based on community infection levels as per CDC recommendation.
Please speak with your school’s nurse or health assistant if you have further questions.
Happy Friday! Congratulations on our first week of school.
Today from 9am to 11:45am is our Kindergarten Jumpstart Day! Parents please plan to drop off and pick up your Kindergarten students. Monday will be Kindergarteners first full day with bus pick up.
During the summer, the district performed PowerSchool maintenance where we discovered a large number of parent and student portal accounts were either not being used, or the contact information was no longer current.
In our efforts to have current and accurate contact information in our student information system, we found it was beneficial to disable all portal accounts from prior school years.
If you or your students would like a new PowerSchool
portal account, please contact your student's school registrar for your Access ID and password.
We are sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience and hope you have a great school year.

Good afternoon, BPS Families -
As we move deeper into the summer months, Bernalillo Public Schools is hard at work in getting ready for the upcoming school year. We have a few major projects that will be taking place in the next two months to improve the physical environment of our schools. In addition, as I have mentioned before, the district has been working with many stakeholders on the development of a strategic plan that will provide a framework on how we will approach the next three to five years. As part of this strategic plan, we have been in the midst of a restructuring of the leadership of the district, including all of our school sites. The restructuring is almost complete, and we are excited to begin the hard but exciting work ahead.
In an effort to keep you informed about the strategic plan and the development of leadership, BPS will be hosting a virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, June 8 at 6PM. This will be the first of many meetings to provide information and updates to the community as we finalize the strategic plan, but then moving forward, as we report out to you about our progress. It is important that we set clear goals, with strategic levers that have understandable metrics. It is even more important that we keep you, our community, apprised of where we stand with those goals.
Below, please find the link to the meeting. This account allows for 1,000 participants, and we will open the meeting by 5:50PM that day, so we can get everybody in.
Matt Montaño is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. Join Zoom Meeting https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82212491844?pwd=eVRtUzEyQ0RKTjBxaFhqUEhrUVg4UT09 Meeting ID: 822 1249 1844 Passcode: 784071

Good morning, BPS Families and Team-
Yesterday's events in Uvalde, Texas have again brought a sober reminder to safety and security in public spaces. On behalf of Bernalillo Public Schools Board of Education, we extend our deepest sympathies to the families and staff of Uvalde CISD.
For the rest of the week, BPS has heightened our security on each campus, with Bernalillo Police Department and Sandoval County Sherriff's Department providing additional presence at each of our campuses in the district. Please note that this heightened security is not due to any existing threat, but as an additional security response in the wake of yesterday's incident.
BPS is committed to protecting our children and staff on our campuses, and we will be investing time and resources in the next few weeks and months to enhance our systems of security, police presence, and training for staff, so that entering next school year, we are even better prepared for a safe and healthy school environment.
Thank you for allowing Bernalillo Public Schools to serve your families!
Sincerely,
Matt
